Easter Baking Workshop
Join guest chef Andy Tyrrell for a day of seasonal baking and learn how to make a range of delicious Easter bakes, to take home and share with friends and family.
When: Monday 31st March and Tuesday 1st April 2025
You do not need any baking experience for this class, and it is ideal for beginners or those that would like to expand their range of baking. Here's a selection of what you could be making on the day:
Hot cross buns – soft & sweet with plump vine fruit, traditional fragrant spices and a sticky glaze.
Babka - an enriched bread dough made in a loaf tin with a variety of sweet fillings like cinnamon, chocolate and fruit.
Semla - traditionally served in Sweden between Christmas and Easter, these fragrant cardamom-flavoured buns are filled with a rich almond paste and whipped vanilla cream.
You will also learn general baking skills which you can apply to other bakes including enriching, kneading, proving and shaping. At the end of the day and you will go away with hands full of Easter treats to share with friends and family and have the skills and knowledge to make them all over again at home.
Of course no visit to The Riverford Field Kitchen would be complete without a seasonal lunch prepared by our chefs.
