The Riverford Field Kitchen
The finest, seasonal, organic food, grown on our Devon farm. Living life on the veg.
Join us for a new veg adventure! Who says veg isn't for breakfast - not us, so we're introducing Saturday Brunch! Guests will enjoy a vegetarian four course brunch which will really set you up for the day.
Starting with fruits & grains, such as buckwheat porridge, strawberries and bee pollen over a pot of coffee, our guests will move onto a slice of our freshly baked sourdough topped with veggie treats like mushrooms and kale pesto before a main course of seasonal produce such as wild garlic pannise and rhubarb brown sauce.
And we’ll finish with breakfast pudding! Find us anyone who doesn’t want Churros with rosemary chocolate dip! With fresh juices and homemade kombucha to round off the experience, all you’ll need to remember is your own newspaper. We can’t be sharing those anymore…
Choose the Saturday 10am time slot when booking.
Fresh from our farm to your fork
At the Riverford Field Kitchen, we are dedicated to growing and cooking seasonal, organic food with vegetables and herbs picked daily from our farm and field kitchen garden just metres from the restaurant. Our chefs work with only the freshest ingredients which means our menu changes daily depending on what is in abundance in the fields around us. Grass-reared meat and sustainable fish are on the menu but seasonal, organic veg is the star of every plate.
The dining experience
Eating in The Field Kitchen is something to remember. We serve a set menu of seasonal, vegcentric dishes. There are no starters or mains, we bring dishes to you table in one long flow for you to share with your family & friends. Uniquely, there is just one sitting and the whole restaurant is served together at the same time.
We only cook for the amount of people that are coming, so advanced booking really is essential.
We serve daily changing set menus to make the most of the freshest seasonal produce coming in from the fields. Combinations of hot and cold seasonal salads, inspiring veg dishes and a little grass reared meat for those that like. Our dishes are made to inspire and showcase how veg can be the star of the plate.
We try to cater for allergies and food intolerances as best we can, so please do let us know of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking. We can happily cater for vegetarians, vegans and those avoiding dairy and gluten. Our veg-heavy menu, and the numbers of dishes we hope you will try on your visit to us, does mean that certain ingredients cannot be avoided though.
Regrettably we cannot cater for diets avoiding vinegars or sulphites, cooking oils, garlic, sugar (due to pickles, ferments, cordials and puddings), FODMAP or other limited vegetable intake diets. If you do have a restricted diet and would like to dine with us, please do call on us on 01803 227391 to see if your specific requirement is something we are able to cater for.
We kindly request you do not specify dislikes or preferences as we would love you to try the dishes our chefs have specially created for the service and experience the menu as intended. We have been known to turn many a beetroot or fennel hater into a convert!
