Riverford Field to Fork Experience *multiple dates

Riverford Field to Fork Experience

There's not many places where you can wander amongst your food growing before you enjoy it on your plate. Join us for our Field to Fork experience, where you will see our 100% organic, seasonal veg growing in our garden and polytunnel, and see how our chefs turn it into inspiring, flavoursome dishes.

Imagine seeing French Beans climbing and tomatoes on the vine, and then eating them for lunch a couple of hours later drizzled with a fresh and herby salmoriglio sauce. Beetroot covered in good, organic soil in the ground, and then served to you with rhubarb, ajo blanco and chives. Or maybe you'll walk past some wild gorse flowers which we've foraged and turned into a delicious gorse flower rum.

Our Head Gardener Penny Hemming, who grows veg, fruit and herbs for the Riverford Field Kitchen alongside the produce we take from the farm, will be your experienced guide for the first part of your veg journey. She will show you around her polytunnel or 'Aladdin's cave' as it is also called, and the Field Kitchen Garden. Penny grows everything from cucumbers and courgettes, to sweetcorn and Tropea onions, broad beans, aubergines and 28 varieties of tomatoes! She also nurtures the perfect growing accompaniment for veg and haven for wildlife - flowers, which add beautiful colour to the green garden and our restaurant walls.

After your tour, you will head to the Riverford Field Kitchen, where you will enjoy an inspired vegcentric set menu, really making the most of the ingredients you've just seen growing in the garden.

Our chefs make the most of the freshest seasonal produce coming in from the garden and fields surrounding the restaurant and they create dishes to inspire and showcase how veg can be the star of the plate.

And if you want to see even more, and maybe walk off your lunch, grab a map from the restaurant and enjoy a slow-paced, self-guided farm tour.  You will see our reservoirs, agroforestry projects and some wonderful views of the Devon hills.
