Summer Blooms Arrangement Workshop
Join us for a floral design workshop with Head Gardener Penny Hemming, to pick and create your own summer blooms arrangement.
We are always incredibly proud of our head gardener Penny Hemming's floral creations which decorate The Field Kitchen restaurant. It's the thing our guests comment on most often, second only to the food.
Penny is going to share her wealth of knowledge in this hands-on practical floral workshop, where guests will create a beautiful fresh flower arrangement to take home with them at the end of the day.
Guests will have the chance to learn some handy tips and tricks to help create stunning fresh flower arrangements using flowers gathered from The Riverford Field Kitchen garden, before getting hands-on to create a fresh arrangement to take home.
Choose from stunning dahlia varieties, sunflowers, larkspur, ammi magus and so many more, to create your flower bouquet of dreams!

9.30am - Welcome to Riverford Field Kitchen
Arrive at The Riverford Field Kitchen Garden & Polytunnel. Course tutor and head gardener Penny Hemming will outline the plan for the morning.
9.45am - Flower Walk
A walk round the Field Kitchen Garden with Penny looking at different flowers, growing tips and a good time for a Q&A session.
10.30am - How to Create a Dazzling Fresh Flower Arrangement
Penny will talk through and demo the tips and tricks the experts use to ensure their floral arrangement hangs together to create a dazzling centrepiece for your home. You'll then have the chance to get hands-on and choose the fresh blooms you'd like to work with, before creating your own arrangement to take home.

About your host: Penny Hemming
Penny is the head gardener at Riverford HQ. She can usually be found in 'Penny's Polytunnel', an Aladdin's Cave of unusual veg and herbs, used to supply the Field Kitchen restaurant. She also runs guided tours and farm walks, takes workshops and is a fount of knowledge about the history of Riverford and its land. Before joining Riverford, Penny used to have a flower nursery so is experienced as she is passionate about flowers and floral design.
