Grow Your Own Cut Flower Garden
Join us for our cut flower garden workshop - growing beautiful blooms ready for cutting in the summer.
Learn how to create a cutting patch in your garden and make the right selection of flowers for a summer supply of home-grown arrangements. The workshop is with our Head Gardener Penny Hemming and held in our field kitchen garden where you will have the opportunity to sow and pot on a wide range of beautiful organic plants such as dahlias, cosmos and rudbeckias
The workshop starts at 9.30am with a coffee and tasty treat with Penny in The Riverford Field Kitchen restaurant and a discussion around which areas you most want to learn about during the day. You will then head outside for a tour of polytunnel and take a wander round our field kitchen garden where Penny will cover what beautiful varieties to grow and how to prepare your ground.
Of course, you can't come to The Riverford Field Kitchen without eating with us so a light lunch, full of seasonal produce from the fields around will be cooked for you.
After lunch, it's time to get your fingers green and muddy and get hands on sowing your own seeds - which you will take home along with some seedlings. There will, of course, be plenty of opportunities to ask Penny questions and get advice on growing and caring for your flowers throughout the day.
