Charred: Veg Over Fire Feast with Genevieve Taylor
Join celebrated author & cooking over fire aficionado, Genevieve Taylor, for a veg-centric feast over fire.
We believe that a great barbecue is about more than just meat, which is why we are delighted that cooking over fire and BBQ expert Genevieve Taylor is joining us to host a fire-focused, veg-centric feast featuring recipes from her latest book Charred - the complete guide to vegetarian grilling and BBQ. The menu for the evening will feature some of Genevieve's favourite recipes from her latest book, and will be designed to demonstrate the veggie magic that happens when you cook over fire: flavours intensify, surfaces caramelise and edges get irresistibly crisp and charred.
Genevieve Taylor is the author of ten cookery books and Chair of the Guild of Food Writers. Her latest book Charred, was named cookbook of the year by Sheila Dillon from Radio 4's Food Programme. She will be doing a book signing at the end of the event.
Date: Tuesday 30th June 2020
Time: 7pm to 10pm
About Genevieve Taylor
Live fire and BBQ expert Genevieve Taylor is the author of ten cookery books including Charred, a complete guide to vegetarian BBQ, The Ultimate Wood-fired Oven Cook book, How to Eat Outside and Master Chef Street Food of the World. A proud omnivore, Genevieve is on a mission to prove that great BBQ isn't just about Man vs. Meat. She also runs the Bristol Fire School, a new cookery school focussed on teaching people to light fires better in order to cook better food.
When she's not cooking over an open fire, Genevieve can usually be found outside walking her dogs in the woods or growing a few good things to eat on her Bristol allotment. She has recently set up @FoodFireEarth, a fire-based events company to make the most of all the food she grows. Genevieve is the current Chair of the Guild of Food Writers, a BBC Food Programme regular and a judge on the BBC's Food and Farming awards.
